GUEST ARTISTS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM WITH THE KWERKS
THURSDAY AUGUST 17 2:30-3:30
The Kwerks are a married folk-pop duo from Vancouver, BC who dropped everything to pursue their passion for music and performing. Their music is filled with stories of love, adventure and stepping out into the spotlight when you feel like running to hide, much like the message they bring to audiences that can't seem
hold back grooving to the rhythm - live life NOW, say YES, take CHANCES, and LOVE WELL.
We lived in the suburbs of Vancouver and were living a pretty typical life. Three kids, a dog, two cars, work, etc. One day we looked at each other and started wondering whether this was actually what we were wanting to do with our lives. So we started asking some big questions like "what do we want?" and "what is
important to us?".
Once the conversations started, we compiled a list of things that were important to us, and called them our list of values. "what did we always want to do?" and MUSIC was the first thing that came into my (Laura's) head. And so the decision was made to pursue music with my whole heart. A few years later, we've had a lot of success and gotten to play for so many amazing audiences, The dream is coming true, and it's really, really amazing to experience.
